Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The watermark is stamped by code running inside your browser on your own device — you can confirm in your browser’s network inspector that nothing is sent. When you close the tab, nothing remains anywhere.
What can the watermark say?
Any short text — "CONFIDENTIAL", "DRAFT", a client name, a date. It goes on every page, diagonal corner-to-corner or horizontal across the middle, in light or medium gray.
Does watermarking reduce quality?
No. Your pages are never re-rendered or recompressed — the watermark is drawn as translucent text on top of the existing content.
Can the watermark be removed later?
Like all visual watermarks (including the ones paid tools sell), it marks the document rather than locking it — determined editing software can remove it. It is a label, not a security measure.
Does it work with password-protected PDFs?
Not yet. If your file is encrypted, remove its password first (any PDF viewer that can open the file can usually re-save it without one), then watermark it.
