Where do the numbers go, and what do they look like?
Your choice of bottom center, left, or right, in a small dark-gray Helvetica that suits most documents. Formats: plain "1", "1 of 12", or "Page 1".
Will the numbers cover my content?
They sit in the bottom margin, where documents normally leave room. Pages themselves are untouched — nothing is re-rendered or recompressed; the number is simply drawn on top.
Are the numbers real text?
Yes — selectable, searchable text using one of the PDF standard fonts, not an image. No font file is downloaded from anywhere.
Does it work with password-protected PDFs?
Not yet. If your file is encrypted, remove its password first (any PDF viewer that can open the file can usually re-save it without one), then number it.
